**Why I Love Being a Film Photographer in San Diego**

As a **film photographer in San Diego**, I capture life’s most beautiful moments using both **35mm film and digital photography**. I started my journey as a **wedding photographer** in 2010 with digital, but in 2021, I picked up a **PENTAX K1000** and fell in love with **film photography**. Since then, I’ve combined both styles to create timeless, artistic images that tell authentic stories.

Capturing Weddings, Families, Maternity & Newborns on Film

San Diego is the perfect backdrop for stunning **wedding photography**, intimate **family portraits**, and heartfelt **maternity and newborn sessions**. With its golden beaches, dreamy sunsets, and charming city spots, film photography enhances every scene beautifully.

Shooting on film forces me to slow down, be intentional, and focus on the details—whether it’s a bride’s first look, a family’s laughter, or a mother’s anticipation before welcoming her newborn.

The Art of Film Photography in a Digital World

Film is different from digital—it’s unforgiving and requires a deep understanding of **light, composition, and exposure**. This challenge has improved my technical skills and transformed how I approach photography. Whether I shoot on **film or digital**, every photo is taken with purpose and storytelling in mind.

If you're looking for a **San Diego film photographer** to capture your **wedding, family session, maternity, or newborn moments**, let’s create something timeless together. Contact me to book your session and experience the beauty of film photography firsthand!

Shooting 35mm film is NOT forgiving to edit so you have to get as close to perfect in the setting as you can. Under pressure for time on a wedding day can make these shots very tough to accomplish. After lots of practice and I have honed the skills to shoot digital photos and film photos in the same 20 minute portrait session.
